چکیده
(CITC), under the conditions of the reported typical experiment (Table 1), contained a total of 4.428 g of protein in a volume of 1,220 ml. The final eluate, in a volume of 274 ml, contained 1.121 g of protein. This represented, in effect, a net removal of 74.7% of proteinaceous material, while effecting a volume concentration of 4.45 X. There was a concomitant increase in the CF antigen titer, from just detectable activity in the undiluted to full CF activity with 1:16 antigen dilution of the concentrate against a serum dilution approximating its control antigen titer (Table 1). Further, it should be noted that no specific CF activity was detectable in the filtrate. The described procedure for the partial purification and concentration of poliovirus has been applied to all three types of poliovirus, and in every instance has produced an improved CF antigen.

متن کاملOuter-sphere anion recognition by a cyclen-based octadentate europium(III) complex: pH dependent recognition of ortho-phthalic acid.
An octadentate cyclen-based europium complex with amidic and hydroxyalkyl pendent moieties exhibits pH dependent ligand denticity associated with anion recognition. Unusually high hydration numbers are determined for ortho-phthalate ternary outer-sphere complexes for which modulation of lanthanide-based luminescence is observed.
متن کاملBacterial Decarboxylation of o-Phthalic Acids.
The decarboxylation of phthalic acids was studied with Bacillus sp. strain FO, a marine mixed culture ON-7, and Pseudomonas testosteroni. The mixed culture ON-7, when grown anaerobically on phthalate but incubated aerobically with chloramphenicol, quantitatively converted phthalic acid to benzoic acid. Substituted phthalic acids were also decarboxylated: 4,5-dihydroxyphthalic acid to protocatec...
متن کاملIsolation of Phthalic Acid Degrading Pseudomonas Sp. P1 from Soil
Phthalates are common plasticizers used in pPVC (plasticized polyvinyl chloride) products. Phthalates are commonly found in the child rearing products (for teething, toys etc.), blood bags, dialysis tubing, paints, lacquers, cosmetics, coatings of capsules etc. The present study was conducted to explore the potential of new microbial strains for the biodegradation and biotransformation of phtha...
متن کاملThe formation of SOA and chemical tracer compounds from the photooxidation of naphthalene and its methyl analogs in the presence and absence of nitrogen oxides
Laboratory smog chamber experiments have been carried out to investigate secondary organic aerosol (SOA) formation from the photooxidation of naphthalene and its methyl analogs, 1and 2-methylnaphthalene (1-MN and 2MN, respectively). Laboratory smog chamber irradiations were conducted in a flow mode to ensure adequate collection of the aerosol at reasonably low reactant concentrations and in the...
